Terms and Conditions
Acceptance of Terms and Conditions:
By accepting a tuition assignment offered by Tutortrustsg, the tutor acknowledges and accepts the terms and conditions listed in this document. Acceptance is made when the tutor acknowledges the confirmation message sent to the tutor via any mode of communication and/or when the tutor has conducted the first tuition lesson arranged by Tutortrustsg’s tuition matching services. The tutor agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions throughout the term of the tuition assignment.
Schedule and Attendance:
The tutor is expected to attend all scheduled tuition sessions punctually. Any changes to the tuition schedule must be agreed upon by the student or their parent/guardian and communicated to the agency at least 48 hours in advance. In the event of the tutor's absence due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, the tutor should notify the agency and arrange for a postponement of the lesson or for a replacement tutor. The tutor may be requested to provide a medical certificate for verification.
Responsibilities and Conduct:
The tutor should conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner at all times and comply with the agency's policies and guidelines. The tutor is responsible for providing quality tuition services, preparing materials and lesson plans, and monitoring the student's progress. The tutor should also maintain the confidentiality of the student's information.
Background Checks:
The tutor agrees to undergo a background qualification check conducted by Tutortrustsg prior to accepting any tuition assignments. The background check may include, but is not limited to, reference checks and academic qualification verification.
Communication with Parents/Guardians:
The tutor is expected to maintain regular communication with the student's parent(s)/guardian(s) to provide updates on the student's progress and to discuss any concerns or issues that may arise during the course of the tuition assignment. The tutor should respond promptly to any messages or queries from the parent(s)/guardian(s).
Commission Collection:
Tutortrustsg's commission shall be calculated based on the number of lessons agreed upon between the client and the agency. The commission amount will be 50% of the total fees for the first month or for the number of lessons agreed upon for each month, whichever is higher. For example, if the agreed number of lessons for each month is 12, the client shall pay agency commissions for up to 6 lessons. If the parent(s)/guardian(s) do not wish to pay the commission to Tutortrustsg, the tutor has the responsibility to collect the commission from the parent(s)/guardian(s) directly. The tutor agrees to inform Tutortrustsg of such an event and provide proof of collection. Failure to collect the commission from the parent(s)/guardian(s) does not relieve the tutor of their obligation to pay the commission to Tutortrustsg. The tutor acknowledges that failure to pay the commission to Tutortrustsg may result in legal action being taken to recover the outstanding amount.
Mid-Point Notification:
The tutor is responsible for notifying Tutortrustsg when the second lesson or when the tutor has completed lessons at the halfway mark of the first 4-weeks. The tutor agrees to provide an update on the student’s progress and inform Tutortrustsg of any issues that may arise during the tuition period. This notification is important as it allows Tutortrustsg to provide timely assistance and support to the tutor and student.
Termination and Refunds:
The tuition assignment may be terminated by either party with 7 days' written notice. A cancellation fee of 50% of the first month's fees or the number of lessons agreed upon for each month, whichever is higher, will be payable if the tutor withdraws from the assignment less than 7 days in advance. There are no termination fees on the client’s end. If the tuition assignment is terminated early, the tutor will be paid for
all tuition sessions provided up to the date of termination. No further payments will be made to the tutor after the termination date. If the assignment is terminated within the first 4 weeks from the start date, Tutortrustsg will refund the due amount to the tutor. Refunds or adjustments to payment will only be provided in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the agency.
Liability and Dispute Resolution:
The tutor and Tutortrustsg are not liable for any damage, injury, or loss arising from the tuition services provided. Any disputes or disagreements between the tutor and the agency will be resolved through mediation or arbitration.
Confidentiality:
The tutor agrees to maintain the confidentiality of all information related to the student, including but not limited to personal information, academic records, and family background. The tutor must not disclose any such information to any third party without the prior written consent of the student or their parent/guardian.
Disclaimer:
Tutortrustsg reserves the right to amend the Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice.
